Privacy Policy of Boss Machinery B.V.

Boss Machinery B.V. (hereinafter referred to as “Boss”) respects the privacy of all users of its website and services and treats personal data confidentially.

Boss will only use your personal data in order to handle your applications as quickly and easily as possible and to optimise our services. Your data will only be used for marketing purposes if you have given permission for this.

The below statement specifies how Boss handles the information requested and for which purposes it will be used. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Which data are stored?
The data you provide to us and data about your visit to our online channels will be stored. Examples are:

  • Purchase and delivery of our products: when products are rented or purchased, we will process the personal data you provide. Examples of such data are name and address details and financial data;
  • Creating a MyBOSS personal account: the data you provide when creating MyBOSS, such as your e-mail address and username;
  • Requesting products or services via our websites: the data you provide when requesting a product.

Google Customer Match
If you grant us permission for marketing cookies and data processing, we can use Google Customer Match. This Google service allows us to display the most relevant and engaging ads to people who have previously made a purchase with us, as long as they are logged into their Google account.

We process our customers' email addresses into a "hash" (a long string of data generated by an algorithm). We then provide this hash to Google, which has also generated hashes using the same algorithm for the email addresses (and possibly additional information such as phone numbers) of its users. If your Google account uses the same email address as the one you provided when you became our customer, Google will recognize the hash. The use of hashes is a form of pseudonymization, which is recognized under the GDPR and other applicable privacy laws as an important technique for protecting your privacy.

As long as you are logged into your Google account, Google can take into account the settings we have configured within Google's advertising services to show you the most relevant ads. However, our settings are not the only factors Google considers when determining which ads you see on Google services and on websites or apps that offer advertising space from or through Google. If you do not grant us permission to use marketing cookies and similar technologies, the data processing described above for Google Customer Match will not take place.

You can also manage your Google account settings to decide whether you want ads in Google services to be personalized based on your online search and browsing behavior. The most recent link we have for this is: https://adssettings.google.com.

Google Enhanced Conversions
Another service that is activated when you grant us permission for marketing cookies and similar data processing is Google Enhanced Conversions. This service helps measure how effective the ads we run through Google are. If you take an action after seeing an ad that aligns with the ad’s goal, it is referred to as a "conversion." Typically, this is making a purchase, but it could also include other actions, such as signing up for a newsletter. The challenge is to measure the effectiveness of the ad as accurately as possible while ensuring your privacy remains protected.

Google Enhanced Conversions assists with this in a way similar to Google Customer Match. When a conversion occurs (usually a purchase), we create a hash of your email address and send it to Google. Google then checks if this hash matches any of the hashes it has generated from the email addresses in its own customer database. If you were logged into your Google account when you viewed our ad, the hash can be used to determine how much time passed between viewing the ad and completing the conversion. This helps assess how likely it is that the ad contributed to the conversion.

For which purposes will my data be used?
Your data may be used for:

  • The processing of orders and returns;
  • The creation of a MyBoss personal account;
  • Marketing purposes, such as sending newsletters;
  • The prevention of misuse and improper use of our services.

For how long will my data be retained?
Boss will retain your data no longer than necessary in order to achieve the purposes for which they were collected and processed or will retain them for the period required by law.

What are my rights?
Once a year, you have the right to request information about your personal data. If your data are incorrect, incomplete or inapplicable, you may submit a request for these data to be changed or deleted. If you want to request, delete or change your data, you can submit such request via info@bossmachinery.nl. To prevent any misuse, we may ask that you identify yourself.

We cannot delete your data in case of a statutory obligation to store the data, such as rules on keeping accounts, or if there are other legitimate reasons to retain such data, such as outstanding debts.

How are my data secured?
Boss uses both technical and organisational measures to protect the personal data. We continuously improve our security measures in line with technological progress and developments.
